The accepted artist will be commissioned with designing and producing murals in the vibrant downtown district of Mount Sterling, Kentucky. The recipient will receive a $3,000 honorarium stipend, a $1,000 materials budget, free local housing, and 24/7 studio access. Applications are reviewed by GRAC staff members who will consider the artists' portfolios, relevant work experience, career goals, and dedication to cultivating creativity in our community. The Gateway Regional Arts Center (GRAC) is the leading arts institution in its area of Kentucky between Lexington and Ashland. GRAC boasts a beautiful 12,000-square-foot regional cultural center, housed in the former United Methodist Church building (built in 1883 and renovated in 2009), in the historic downtown district of Mt. Sterling.
